The remedy for love

There is an abundance of information these days- so much advice on how to be ‘healthy’, how to shed weight, how to ‘heal’.

It isn’t easy to find two practitioners that advice exactly the same thing, but the majority of them do put food at the centre of the journey.

I want to put food to one side, just for a minute.

What if what you have decided about your life is the biggest source of food you can feed yourself and your cells?

When we are using our own loving to warm the places inside of ourselves that are hurting, it is an act of compassion.

It can be a challenge to love ourselves at the best of times. The mind is the biggest party pooper!

Add a chronic illness to the mix and things just got real tough. We search for answers, why me, why this, why now- it may become hard to love ourselves, more than ever before.

We just want the illness, the hurt, to go away.

We may even hate our bodies more, hate ourselves more. Like other much people less.

But take a second and acknowledge how incredible you actually are. Take a moment to thank your body for carrying you every day.

Thank your heart for beating every day – and you don’t even have to think about it. It simply beats thus sustaining the life force within you.

What if ‘fixing’ is not the answer? What if ‘restricting’ is not the answer? I have tried both and they can be exhausting.

Exhaustion caused me to surrender. To sit with it all, in gratitude and just be.

“There is no remedy for love, but to love more”

~Henry David Thoreau

What if healing meant loving YOU more?

Try forgiving yourself. Loving yourself more, despite it all.

“You wander from room to room hunting for the diamond necklace that is already around your neck”

~Rumi
