Yoga and Meditation Classes: De-Stress Your Mind And Relax Your Body
You may love yoga or you may not, but the benefits of Yoga and Meditation Classes in terms of stress relief are vast and available to everyone, whether you’re an expert or a novice, stiff or flexible. So we encourage you to take advantage of some or all of our diverse relaxation course offerings each week.
While this is not a yoga retreat by any means, we incorporate 3 different styles of yoga classes taught at the villa and bring in multiple teachers each week, so there is variety and something for everyone.
This is not the high heat, fast-paced ‘power yoga’ or ‘hot yoga’ you might have tried before, however. Classes include yin (restorative) yoga, upper body yoga, lower body yoga, and custom classes/poses for guests who have just gotten off a long airplane flight or have sore muscles, for example.
Psychological and physiological stress, coming from a busy or overwhelming life or career, make it extremely difficult to balance your cortisol and blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation, factors that are critical for weight loss.
All of our Yoga and Meditation Classes, as well as the several mind-body classes beyond yoga we offer – including breathwork, guided meditation, progressive relaxations, chi gong, and tai chi – have the same overall intention. They’re all specifically designed to use your breath to balance your energy levels and reduce your stress to ensure a safe and effective foundation for weight loss while also aiding physical flexibility and mobility. And remember: except for a daily morning walk, all of our activities here are optional.
Psychological and physiological stress, coming from a busy or overwhelming life or career, make it extremely difficult to balance your cortisol and blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation, factors that are critical for weight loss. If you’re eating and exercising right, but so stressed out or wired at night you can barely fall asleep, you probably won’t see the results you want.
The benefits of yoga include but are not limited to stress management. They also include increased mindfulness and “being present in the moment,” pain relief, increased mobility, muscle strengthening, weight management, calming down an overactive mind, and hormone balancing. If you’ve tried yoga before, try a new type of class and expand your knowledge. If you haven’t tried yoga before, find out for yourself in a non-intimidating environment what your favorite types of relaxation are.
